Charuni completed her Bachelor's in Environmental Science at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and her Master's in Climate Change Science and Policy at the University of Bristol, UK. For her master's dissertation she investigated the sub-daily variability in temperature and relative humidity and their impact on heat stress. During her PhD, she hopes to examine the drivers of heatwaves and to gain an in-depth understanding of how heatwaves are changing and accurately isolating the human influence on heatwaves.
