Josué Martinez Moreno is a Mexican earth scientist interested in oceanic climate and environmental issues, particularly where there is a high impact in population. In 2017, He started his PhD candidature at the Australian National University focusing on the effects of climate change over oceanic processes (eddies and jets) through perturbations of kinetic energy. This research is relevant due to a possible intensification of coastal heatwaves, changes in the distribution of oceanic primary productivity and feedbacks to the earth climate. He completed his bachelor degree at the Center for Atmospheric Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2017. His honours project studied the passive particle dispersion of the Coatzacoalcos River in the Gulf of Mexico using the MITgcm model.
