Biography

Mustapha obtained his Master’s degree from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China and Bachelor’s degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. His Master’s research explored spatio-temporal modelling of meteorological phenomena such as solar radiation and temperature by inculcating the effect of topography as well as atmosphere (clouds and aerosols). He also worked on estimating actual evapotranspiration using the complimentary technique over the Huaihe river basin in China. He is currently enrolled as a PhD candidate with Monash University and for his PhD research work, his interest lies in trying to understand in closer detail how precipitation and or other weather phenomenon evolve during seasonal, annual and long-term drought episodes as well as their underlying mechanisms. This will be done by foremost looking at such variations in global observation data before migrating onto coupled model with the aim of using the latest CMIP6 simulation for this investigation.
