Biography

From 2016 to 2020, Shujing was a undergraduate student in the joint Ocean University of China (OUC)-University of Tasmania (UTAS) 2+2 program, having undertaken her first two years at OUC prior to transferring to Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS)/UTAS in 2018 to complete her undergraduate education. In 2018, Shujing was awarded ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes Undergraduate Scholarship and worked on the summer project 'Impact of tropical sea surface temperatures on climate extremes in Australia' . In 2020, she completed her 1-year honours project 'Improving sea level fingerprints associated with future land ice melting' at IMAS and was awarded as Honours First Class. Now she has been awarded a financial support from Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes (CLEX) Scholarship, UTAS Scholarship and Quantitative Marine Science (QMS) Top-up Scholarship to persue her further PhD research at IMAS and the project topic is 'Adjoint Modelling of the Sensitivity of Southern Ocean Heat Uptake'
