Shangyu started her Masters program at ANU Research School of Earth Science in July 2017.
She is studying the global water cycle and energy balance.
She received her Bachelor's Degree of Science at College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences, Ocean University of China, Tsingtao where she specialised in physical oceanography and climate system science.
THESIS: Changes in the water cycle over land and ocean
Model simulations are the most practical way to predict climate. All simulations are based on different conditions that have already happened or are assumptions of future.
Shangyu will be examining the CO2-water vapour feedback with the aim to improve how this is currently represented in climate models.
