Biography

Difei is an ARC DECRA Fellow and Lecturer in atmospheric science at UNSW Canberra. Her research focuses on the fundamental mechanism studies that underpin the understanding of atmospheric processes related to extreme weather and climate, especially tropical cyclones, with the purpose of filling the gaps between climatic statistical studies and the meso-scale dynamical studies. Her current ARC project works on rainfall enhancement following landfalling tropical cyclones over Australia using historical observations, remote sending, reanalysis data sets, and state-of-the-art numerical model.
