We love to celebrate success and notable achievements by CLEX students and staff. Each year the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes awards the following prizes.
- CLEX Prize for the best paper by a PhD Student ($500)
- CLEX Prize for the best paper by an Early Career Researcher ($500)
- CLEX Engagement prize ($500)
- CLEX Director’s Prize ($750)
- CLEX Career Advancement Award for Women and Other Underrepresented Groups ($10,000)
These prizes recognise innovative science; contributions to translation and outreach; sustained or exceptional one-off contributions to the Centre; and provide career advancement opportunities.
Application dates are announced each year – usually early August – via centre-wide mailing lists and the weekly update. Nominations are assessed by panels made up of Chief Investigators and winners are announced at the Centre’s Annual Workshop in November.
CLEX staff and students can access more details of prize criteria etc via the Resource Library in Cle(v)er.
