Public Event: Climate Change in the Indo-Pacific – Opportunities and challenges

30 July 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

$11.64 – $22.19

Climate Reality Project, Climate Change in the Indo-Pacific – Opportunities and challenges

The Indo-Pacific is widely considered to be among the most vulnerable regions to the impacts of climate change, which coupled with the development needs of many nations across the region suggests an uncertain path ahead. However, it is also the setting for remarkable change, innovation and collective efforts towards climate mitigation and adaptation.

From the exponential growth of renewable energy, to collaboration in response to climate change-related natural disasters, the Indo-Pacific has many success stories. This event will explore questions relating to local, national and regional responses to climate change in the Indo-Pacific, and reflect upon some of the challenges and opportunities that the region faces going forward.

Join Climate Reality for a panel discussion and an opportunity to meet individuals interested in climate change efforts and impact across the region. We will be hearing from:

  • Zoe Whitton, Head of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Research, Citibank
  • Dr Komali Yenneti, Lecturer, University of New South Wales and New Generation Network fellow (low-carbon development and energy transitions)
  • Alex Rantino, Senior Policy Officer (Climate Change Branch), Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
  • Julian O’Shea, CEO, Unbound

Event schedule
5:30pm: Networking with drinks and nibbles (all vegan/vegetarian, with gluten free options available)
6:15-7:15pm: Panel discussion
