Panel discussion 6:30pm – 8:00pm
The landmark Paris Agreement sets out the objective for advanced economies to shift towards net-zero emissions by the second half of this century. Few national and subnational governments have prioritised establishing the policy architecture required to meet this challenge, demonstrating a varying sense of urgency. Can we rely on the private sector to drive the scale of change we need in the absence of policy that is stable and effective? Whether driven by profit or altruism, environmental leaders are emerging in many industries – do they have what it takes?
This event will explore the ways private sector leaders are redefining the way their industries do business, in line with the net-zero emissions future. The panel will reflect the range of sectors who have made commercial decisions to adopt new practices that are consistent with Paris Agreement commitments.
