Biography

I'm interested in all types of extreme weather/climate events, particularly in terms of the major climate drivers and observed variability, with a main focus on extreme rainfall in eastern Australia. My PhD focused on East Coast Lows, the big midlatitude cyclones that cause a large proportion of rain and extreme weather on the east coast. I want to know why they happen, and how important local topography and sea surface temperatures are to their behaviour.
