Biography

Arnold Sullivan is a climate modeller. He has worked on the Australian Community Climate and Earth System Simulator (ACCESS) climate model at CSIRO Aspendale since 2009 and has provided his support in submitting ACCESS to CMIP5 and CMIP6. His recent (2020) initiated post-grade study will focus on i) monthly ocean-atmosphere coupling and ocean subsurface-surface coupling in the tropical Pacific; ii) spatial details of the coupled atmospheric response, like the meridional width of the zonal winds, which has been previously linked to biennial ENSO variability; iii) the seasonally timed meridional movement of the zonal wind anomalies, which has been linked to the ENSO events' termination.
