Biography

Jo is a lecturer in palaeoclimate modelling in the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne. She previously worked at the Bureau of Meteorology for 10 years as a research scientist, producing climate projections for Australia and the Pacific region. She also completed two postdoctoral fellowships, one at the University of Reading (UK) and the other at Monash University. Her research interests include past, present and future climate variability, with a particular focus on El Niño-Southern Oscillation, monsoons and tropical rainfall. She uses climate models to explore the interaction between changes in the mean state and modes of variability in both past and future climates.
