Biography

I have recently completed my undergraduate and honours studies in atmospheric science at Monash University and have a research interest in Australian tropical meteorology. I am currently a PhD student at Monash University focussing on understanding the role and development of cloud cover over the Great Barrier Reef and how this can influence coral bleaching events. My honours research focussed on better understanding the Australian dryline including its diurnal cycle, relationship with precipitation and relationship with the Australian Monsoon. While majority of my results were consistent with previous studies, my thesis was able to show the existence of an offshore winter dryline off the north-western Australian coast and concluded that the leading edge of the monsoon can be viewed as a dryline.
