Biography

Mahya Parchami, a Ph.D. student, is dedicated to researching personal heat exposure and thermal comfort in immediate outdoor environments. With a background in civil engineering for her bachelor's degree, Mahya's passion for environmental issues led her to pursue a master's degree in environmental engineering. Now, she focuses on exploring the correlation between the environment and individuals. Her research revolves around monitoring heat and its impacts on individuals, utilizing innovative methodologies that integrate mobile measurement systems (MaRTy) with wearable technologies for her experiments. Emphasizing the accuracy of wearables in quantifying and predicting heat and thermal comfort levels, Mahya's work promises to advance our understanding of the complex relationship between human beings and their environment.
