Biography

I, Priyamvada Priya, have done my Bachelors from Miranda House, the University of Delhi in Physics Hons. Further, I have completed my Masters’ in Atmosphere and Ocean Sciences at the School of Earth, Ocean, and Climate Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, India. For my master’s dissertation work, I worked on the Variability of Tropical Cyclones (TCs) in the North Indian Ocean Basins. Currently, I am working on the dynamics of the ENSO diversity to examine the observed ENSO dynamics of eastern Pacific (EP) and central Pacific (CP) events and to illustrate how these events are similar or different. The central emphasis of our research is on the recharge oscillator (ReOsc) model, which incorporates the interplay of Sea Surface Temperature (SST) and thermocline depth to describe the ENSO phase space.
