Biography
Sopia started the PhD program in Feb 2017. Her research focus on climate extremes with a particularly focus on understanding the effect of remote and local forcings on rainfall extremes distribution in the Indonesia Maritime Continent (IMC).
She finished her master degree at the University of Indonesia in 2014, studying the heat island effect on rainfall extremes in Jakarta, Indonesia.
She has been working for six years at the Agency for the Assessment and application of Technology (BPPT)-Indonesia and as a member of the Maritime Continent Centre of Excellence (MCCOE) program, initiated by the Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS-MCCOE) JST/JICA project.
