Biography

After completing a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Calcutta, India, I became interested in studying cloud processes and did a Masters in Atmospheric Sciences from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India. I have just completed a PhD in Atmospheric Science from Monash University, where I studied the effect of global warming on the vertical distribution of tropical large scale circulation using a hierarchy of simple modeling techniques. I am currently involved in a High Resolution Modeling project as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Monash University, examining the possibility of developing high spatial resolution in global climate models. My main research interests are Atmospheric Modeling, Tropical Circulation and extreme rainfall in the tropics.
