The newly formulated Attribution and Risk research program is by its very nature focused on the impacts of weather and climate on our society. A key piece of research on business risk and the emergence of climate risk perfectly highlighted this.
Welcome to the first Weather and Climate Interactions RP report. The new program name is simply a result of rationalising CLEX’s continuing research program under new headings that more clearly delineate the focus of the work we do.
CLEX researchers and colleagues quantified the air quality impact of the Black Summer bushfires of 2019/20 and COVID-19 in the south-eastern states of Victoria and New South Wales (NSW) using a meteorological normalisation approach.
Schools Weather and Air Quality (SWAQ) is a citizen science project funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Innovation and Science as part of its Inspiring Australia - Citizen Engagement Program.
The Schools Weather and Air Quality (SWAQ) network is placing instruments in Sydney schools to fill gaps in meteorological and air quality observational sites (www.swaq.org.au). This project will contribute to the development of the SWAQ network and assess the influences of spatial variability in Sydney's urban climate and air quality.
