The modelling program has now settled in with weekly MOM/COSIMA meetings while working with other research programs on projects that will continue to improve our models and the way we use them in our research. This work has extended to industry and peer network stakeholders.

The seven-year funding for Centres of Excellence ostensibly supports focused research across existing scientific communities but, as the Consortium for Ocean-Sea Ice Modelling in Australia (COSIMA) shows, it can also help create entirely new scientific communities in a specific research area.

This release is to advise the community that an ACCESS Oversight Committee has been formed initially comprising Christian Jakob, Rachel Law, Helen Cleugh, Andy Pitman, Tony Hirst, Peter May, David Karoly and Ben Evans. Terms of reference have been agreed to by the group and can be found at the end of this document.
