This year’s annual workshop, held in Hobart, brought together complex science, explainers, breakout meetings and poster sessions in a way that was perhaps the most accessible yet. It's set a very high bar for next year's annual workshop.

Two workshops, the Sea Ice Modelling Workshop and Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes “Southern Annular Mode (SAM) Cluster” workshop were held together at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies in Hobart from February 19-21.

For 67 days from early March to mid May, Taimoor Sohail was aboard the US Antarctic Program icebreaker, the Nathaniel B. Palmer, on a scientific expedition from Hobart to Punta Arenas in Chile. It was relentless but very rewarding work, scientifically and personally.
